Every September a group rides in the BikeMS Historic New Bern ride – one of the MS Society’s largest fundraisers. They’d love to have you join them or donate to support their worthy cause. In addition they seek to promote healthy lifesyles through cycling and friendships. The Selma Cyclepaths ride all year as weather permits, rolling out from Thanksgiving Elementary School on Saturday mornings. The time is weather dependent. Routes change weekly to give variety. 2 to 3 distances are offered each week – so you can choose what is right for you. Multiple pace groups are offered from 14 mph to 20+mph. If you are new to riding in a group, they are a great group to start with. Midweek, the Cyclepaths ride on the Neuse River Trail or the Tobacco Trail. These rides generally take place on Tuesday morning – again depending on the weather. In addition to riding in Bike MS many of the members participate in the annual Cycle NC Coastal ride (this year out of Elizabeth City in late April), Tip to Tip (in late September), the Cycle NC Mountains to Coast ride in early October, Le Toure De Femme (mid October), and other organized rides.
