The Summertime Safety Initiative aims to encourage local youth to practice safe habits while enjoying their summer activities. Whether it’s wearing a helmet while biking, using knee and elbow pads while skating, staying alert near roadways, or helping promote safety in other ways, children seen making responsible choices may receive a special reward—a coupon for a free scoop of Hershey’s Ice Cream at Hwy 42 Cafe.
Our goal is to make safety a priority while also showing kids that their efforts are noticed and appreciated. By working together with Hwy 42 Cafe, we’re able to create a fun way to reinforce important safety habits that will benefit our community. Public Safety officers will carry a limited number of coupons throughout the summer and distribute them to kids demonstrating exceptional safety awareness. The initiative not only promotes safer habits but also strengthens the sense of community by bringing families, local businesses, and public safety officials together. We’re beyond excited to partner with Hwy 42 Café on this initiative.  It’s all about keeping our children safe while letting them enjoy the summer in a responsible way. Residents of Flowers Plantation are encouraged to spread the word and help make this summer both fun and safe for local youth.
