Our campus will complete our grade expansion, offering a full Pre-K through twelfth grade campus, and we will graduate our inaugural senior class at the end of the year—the first Thales Academy graduates in Johnston County.

Expanding for Success
Since we initially opened the doors to our first Johnston County campus in the award-winning planned community of Flowers Plantation near Clayton in 2022, Thales Academy at Flowers Plantation has experienced high enrollment across all grades, and we have continued to expand our physical campus (the third classroom building just opened this year, and the second classroom building and the gymnatorium were added in 2024).
Some recent improvements for our students and families include:
- Recess/free time across all grades, Pre-K through high school
- Dramatically reduced homework loads
- A return to textbooks and removal of screens in the classroom/on campus
- Hands-on projects and vocational skill lessons in every grade
- Latin starting in Pre-K and offered through high school
- Expanded high school science and math programs
- Free play and social time during morning carpool, Pre-K–12

The above enhancements are in addition to our well-known strengths, such as:
- The use of the effective research-based Direct Instruction method Pre-K–5, including skill-based grouping in core subjects that efficiently teaches to mastery
- A well-rounded classical curriculum with regular incorporation of Socratic-style discussions in grades 6–12
- Integrated character formation
- A firm rooting in traditional American values
- Emphases on critical thinking, truth-seeking, and more of our Top 15 Outcomes of a Thales Academy Student
- A commitment to keeping tuition affordable for families
We also have growing junior high and high school athletics (go Vikings!), debate, and internship programs.
We invite you to schedule a tour to see our beautiful facilities and experience The Thales Way in action, and we hope you will consider joining us as we head into this historic year at Thales Academy at Flowers Plantation.
