The air around the Pecan trees at Dr. Watson echoed with excitement as the Flowers Plantation staff assisted families in creating festive crafts, enjoying a tractordrawn hayride, and playing in the magical snow that softly fell from the sky. Guests sipped hot chocolate, generously provided by Apple Law, as they soaked in the joyous atmosphere.
Santa and Mrs. Claus joined in the fun, interacting with children, taking photos, and creating cherished memories. When it was time to gather around the tree, the Academy of Music and Vocal Arts students filled the air with beautiful holiday music, setting the festive tone. A warm welcome from Reid Stephenson, CEO of Flowers Plantation, was followed by the stirring performance of the Wake and District Pipes and Drum band, who marched down the Parkway.
Behind them, the North Side Fire and Rescue’s Heavy Rescue truck made its way down the street with Santa and Mrs. Claus high atop. The event continued with heartwarming Christmas readings by Mr. Chad Jewett, Principal of Thanksgiving Elementary School, and Ms. Jenny Durko, Principal of River Dell Elementary School.
Finally, the much-anticipated countdown began, and with a magical flourish, Santa lit the grand Christmas tree. The evening was a perfect reflection of the Flowers Plantation community: vibrant, energetic, fun-loving, and deeply connected.
Looking ahead to 2025, the anticipation is already building for more memorable events and opportunities for the community to come together.
